Learn why Simoné thinks Cape Town is such a fascinating destination to learn English.

Cape Studies is committed to offering a unique experience to each of its students and the activity programme makes a great contribution. For this, Simoné Langeveld , Activity Coordinator, puts together an extracurricular activity calendar which is part of students’ every day life. Learn why Simoné thinks Cape Town is such a fascinating destination to lean English.

  1. How long have you worked at Cape Studies? I have been working here for 3 years.
  1. What changes in tourism services in Cape Town have you noticed that make the Mother City a much more attractive destination to visit? The ‘My Citi bus’ service has been a newly added benefit in the public transport system. Roads expansion and maintenance has certainly helped to make travelling easier. The city is full of art and colours which makes this place very special and unique. In 2014, Cape Town was the design Capital.
  1. What activities do students book the most? The Peninsula tour which includes a stop at Boulder’s beach to see the penguins and of course, a safari to spot the Big Five.
  1. What criteria do you take into account when choosing a host family for a student? We only work with the best and most of our hosts have been working with us for more than 10 years. We always try to match a student’s requirements with that of the host.
  1. Conde Nast Traveler included South Africa among the top Family-Friendly destinations, what would be the perfect weekend to enjoy as a family in Cape Town? Cape Town is so versatile and quite literally has something to offer to everyone. For families travelling to Cape Town, we would recommend the Peninsula Tour, Table Mountain, for younger children the Two Ocean Aquarium is a must and if you have 4 or more days then the Garden Route should be on your list too
